Our Wizard in residence Professor Ashton Carter and his magical assistants will teach you a selection of fabulous magic tricks that will help you become the Wizard, Witch or Magician of your dreams.
All tricks taught are easy to learn and perform and require no special skills or knowledge. You will learn in your own family/social bubble groups and no-one is made to do any public performances of the tricks, Professor Carter knows this can be a worry for some people. Frequently Asked Questions
Only one of us is taking the lesson do I need to book a seat for all of us or just the one child taking the lesson?
Yes, please book for every body in the building. We need to know for allocating tables and social distancing how many people will be in the building. The deposits will be taken off your total bill.
Do I need to bring anything for the lesson?
No, all materials and props needed for the lesson are provided, but feel free to wear your wizarding costumes and bring a wand if you have one.
Can I drop off my child and pick them up after the lesson?
We are keen to encourage families to take part in activities together and require at least one responsible adult to accompany the children taking part in your group. Only the people taking the lesson need to pay the £15 fee, everyone else just pays for the food and drink they consume.
My child is quite shy, will this be a noisy or boisterous lesson?
The lessons can be a little loud at times, but Professor Carter is quite strict when it comes to taking the classes and uses his magical powers to create a good learning environment. Everyone stays at their tables and the magic lessons do not require any interaction between tables or running around. We want to make the classes as accessible as we can and if you group have any special needs please drop us a note when booking and we can get back to you to discuss options
Will the lesson be too difficult for my child?
We appreciate that all children are different and all our lessons have successfully been run for groups of children aged 6+. Sometimes our younger students may need a little helping hand from the adults in the group, and our Wizards are on hand to help both the child and the adults. We go at a gentle pace and spend lots of time repeating the tricks and visiting each group to help everyone.
