🌿 Reading the Feathers

Amy knows each of her owls intimately – not just by their markings or quirks, but by how they feel. Owls, like many animals, communicate not with words but with movement and posture.

From puffing up defensively to shrinking small in uncertainty, every feather flick tells a story. A wide-eyed stare might signal curiosity – or caution. Beak clacking? Time to give that owl some space. But the best sign of all? When they close their eyes, fluff up, and take a little nap post-display – that’s the owl version of saying, “I’m content.”
